Lai Prefecture
Lai Prefecture (Chinese: 萊州/莱州; Pinyin: Lái Zhōu) was a historical Chinese prefecture centered on what is now Laizhou in Shandong Province. It existed, with some interruptions, from 585 to 1376. The modern city of Laizhou, established in 1988, keeps the same name. During the Tang dynasty it was located in the northeastern part of Shandong and likely included parts of nearby areas.
