Kay Knapp
Kay Knapp, born Kathryn Elizabeth Knapp on September 14, 1938, in Washington, D.C., is a former American swimmer who specialized in freestyle. She competed for the United States at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, swimming in the heats of the women’s 4×100-meter freestyle relay. The U.S. team won silver, but Knapp did not receive a medal because only swimmers who competed in the final were medal-eligible at that time. She later used the name Kay Norton and swam for the Terrapin Swim Club.
