Kathrin Neimke
Kathrin Neimke, born 18 July 1966 in Magdeburg, is a German shot putter who was one of the best in the world during the 1980s and 1990s. She represented East Germany until 1990 and Germany afterward. She won two Olympic medals: silver in Seoul 1988 and bronze in Barcelona 1992. She competed for SC Magdeburg and was coached by Klaus Schneider. During her career she was about 1.80 meters tall and weighed around 95 kilograms. She has a degree in sales. After her athletic career, she worked as a reproduction photographer for a daily newspaper and later joined the Saxony-Anhalt police.
