Kate Siegel
Kate Gordon Siegelbaum, known as Kate Siegel, was born on August 9, 1982, in Silver Spring, Maryland. She studied at Syracuse University, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and began acting in 2006. She is famous for her work in horror and often collaborates with her husband, director Mike Flanagan.
Her film credits include Oculus (2013), Hush (2016), which she co-wrote, Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016), Gerald’s Game (2017), and The Life of Chuck (2024). On television, she stars in The Haunting of Hill House (2018), The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020), Midnight Mass (2021), and The Fall of the House of Usher (2023). In 2024, she made her directorial debut with a segment for V/H/S/Beyond, released on Shudder.
Siegel is of Jewish descent (Russian, Polish, and German). She married Mike Flanagan in 2016 and they have two children, Cody and Theodora; she is also stepmother to Flanagan’s older son. In 2008 she spoke publicly about being bisexual. She has also done voice work for podcasts like Calling Darkness and The NoSleep Podcast.
