Kajiki Station
Kajiki Station (加治木駅, Kajiki-eki) is a passenger railway station in Aira city, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by JR Kyushu and lies on the Nippō Main Line, 441.6 kilometers from Kokura. The station has two side platforms serving two tracks at ground level. The modern concrete station building houses a waiting area, automatic ticket vending machines, a SUGOCA card reader, and a staffed Midori no Madoguchi ticket window (outsourced to JR Kyushu Tetsudou Eigyou Co.). Access between the platforms is by a footbridge; the opposite platform is numbered Platform 3, and there is a gap that suggests Platform 2 was removed. Parking is available in the forecourt. The station is not fully accessible, as there is no direct access between platforms for wheelchairs.
History: Kajiki Station opened on 10 June 1901 as part of the Kagoshima Line. It later became part of the Kagoshima Main Line in 1909, then the Hisatsu Line in 1927, and was redesignated as part of the Nippō Main Line on 6 December 1932. With the privatization of JNR, it came under JR Kyushu on 1 April 1987.
Passenger usage: In fiscal year 2022, the station was used by an average of 1,615 passengers daily (boarding only), ranking 98th among JR Kyushu stations.
