Kahleah Copper
Kahleah Copper is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA and for Rose BC in the Unrivaled league. Born on August 28, 1994, in Philadelphia, she played high school basketball at Girard College and Prep Charter before starring at Rutgers from 2012 to 2016, finishing with the third-most points in school history (1,872).
Copper was drafted seventh overall in 2016 by the Washington Mystics and was traded to the Chicago Sky in 2017. She started as a bench player early on but became a regular starter in 2020. In 2021, she emerged as a star, led the Sky in scoring during the playoffs, and was named WNBA Finals MVP as Chicago won its first championship. She has been a four-time WNBA All-Star (2021–2024) and earned All-WNBA Second Team honors in 2024. She also won the WNBA Three-Point Shootout in 2023.
Away from the WNBA, Copper played for Perfumerias Avenida in Spain during the 2021–2022 season, earning MVP honors in both the Spanish league and the EuroLeague. In 2024 she was traded to the Phoenix Mercury. She joined Rose BC in the newly formed Unrivaled 3-on-3 league, helping Rose win the inaugural championship in 2025.
On the international stage, Copper helped the United States win gold at the 2022 FIBA World Cup and the 2024 Paris Olympics. She was named to the Olympic team in 2024 and contributed to the gold-medal victory.
