Josef Pühringer
Josef Pühringer (born 30 October 1949 in Traun, Austria) is a former Austrian politician. He served as Governor (Landeshauptmann) of Upper Austria from 2 March 1995 to 6 April 2017. He is a member of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). He was preceded by Josef Ratzenböck and succeeded by Thomas Stelzer. Pühringer is involved with Roman Catholic student fraternities in the ÖCV and the MKV, and he is an Imperial Knight of Honor of the Order of St. George.
