Jone Amezaga
Jone Amezaga Martínez (born 2 January 2005) is a Spanish footballer who plays as a forward or left winger for Athletic Club, wearing number 31. She was born in Zalla, Spain, and is 1.69 m tall.
Amezaga began her football at Pauldarrak and joined Athletic Club’s academy at the age of 12. She played for Athletic Club C (2019–2021) and Athletic Club B (from 2020). She made her professional debut for Athletic Club in Liga F in September 2022 against Sporting Huelva, starting the match and scoring with her first touch.
In the 2022–23 season she was a regular in the first team, making 22 appearances and scoring three goals, including one at San Mamés against Real Sociedad.
Internationally, Amezaga debuted for Spain with the U16s in 2020, then played for the Spain U17s (2021–2022) with 15 caps and 4 goals, and moved to the U19s (2023–2024) with 9 caps and 2 goals. She won the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup with Spain in 2022 and the UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship in 2023, after finishing as runners-up at the UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship in 2022.
Her progression at club and international level is often compared with her teammate Sara Ortega.
