John James Osman
John James Osman (1 December 1847 – 24 February 1916) was a South Australian politician. Born in London, he moved to Adelaide with his family in 1854 and later served as a captain in the South Australian Volunteer Force.
Osman married Eliza Osborne in Milnes Gap on 10 January 1880. He was elected to the South Australian House of Assembly for the Victoria district in a by-election in November 1888 and served as Minister of Lands in the John Cockburn Government from July to August 1890 after James Howe retired. He remained the member for Victoria until April 1893. Osman married twice and had six children—five sons and a daughter—with his second wife, also named Eliza Osborne; all six children were born in Millicent, South Australia. He died in South Australia in 1916.
