John J. Burns (born 1959) is an American politician who served as the 28th Attorney General of Alaska. He was appointed by Governor Sean Parnell in December 2010 and served until January 2, 2012, when he resigned. He was preceded by Daniel S. Sullivan and succeeded by Michael Geraghty. Burns earned a BA from the University of Alaska and a JD from Seattle University.
