John Cooke (born 25 April 1962) is an English former professional footballer who played as a right winger. He was born in Salford, England, and spent his playing career with Sunderland, Carlisle United (two spells, including a loan), Sheffield Wednesday, Stockport County, Chesterfield, Gateshead and Spennymoor United. In total, he made 278 league appearances and scored 32 goals.

Cooke also represented England at youth level, earning three caps and scoring once at the 1981 FIFA World Youth Championship.

After retiring from playing, he joined Sunderland as a kit manager in January 1994 and stayed in the role for many years, remaining there in 2020. He left the club in late 2020. His son, Jay Turner-Cooke, was a Sunderland youth player and later joined Newcastle United.
