Jess Valley Schoolhouse is a small, historic one-room school in Modoc County, California, near the town of Likely. Built in 1900 by Orville and Gus Sweeney, it is a wood-frame building about 19 by 32 feet. The building faces south with a front-gabled roof, gable returns, and corner boards. Its original shake roof has been replaced with tin. The design is typical of many one-room schools from the late 1800s and early 1900s. The school sits on less than an acre of land along County Road 64, about 12 miles east of Likely. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 20, 1999.
