Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant is a Democratic politician from Will County, Illinois. She has served as Will County Executive since December 7, 2020. Before that, she was a member of the Illinois Senate for the 49th district from January 9, 2013, to December 7, 2020. The 49th district includes parts of Joliet, Bolingbrook, Crest Hill, Oswego, Plainfield, Romeoville, and Shorewood.

Earlier in her career, she was the Will County Regional Superintendent of Schools, a role she began after winning in 2007. As head of the Will County Regional Office of Education, she helped local school districts with issues like truancy prevention, GED testing, bus driver training, and school safety inspections, and she started Lincoln School for at-risk students.

Bertino-Tarrant is a lifelong Will County resident who runs a family business in Joliet. She holds a BA from Illinois State University, an MS from the University of St. Francis, and an EdD from Loyola University Chicago. She has been active in the Joliet Chamber of Commerce, the Troy Educational Foundation, and is a parishioner at St. Paul the Apostle Church.

In 2018, Governor-elect JB Pritzker named her to the Educational Success transition committee. She left the Illinois Senate in 2020 to become Will County Executive, and Meg Loughran Cappel was sworn in December 10, 2020 to fill the Senate seat.
