Isolde Ries

Isolde Ries (born 24 June 1956 in Illingen, Saarland) is a German politician from the Social Democratic Party (SPD). She was a member of the Saarland state parliament (Landtag) from 1990 to 2022. She served as Vice President of the Landtag from 2009 to 2022 and was the acting President of the Landtag from 16 July to 11 November 2015. Before politics, she was a member of the Food, Beverages and Catering Union. She joined the SPD in 1984.
