Horus Music Limited is a Leicester-based global distributor and label services company. Founded in 2006 by Nick Dunn, Horus helps artists, labels and rights-holders get music onto more than 200 download, streaming, and interactive platforms worldwide, including iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, VEVO, Beatport, Deezer and Tidal. The company also provides digital marketing, playlisting, music promotion, distribution, radio promotion and publishing services.

Horus serves unsigned and independent artists as well as well-known acts. It has grown with sister businesses Help for Bands and Help For Writers, and with Anara Publishing (launched in 2017) for royalty administration and sync licensing. In 2017, Horus received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.

Key milestones include being named Best Business Partner of 2014 by Huawei China, and a Leicester Mercury Business Awards finalist that year. In 2015, Horus sponsored the UK’s Independent Label Week. The 10th anniversary was celebrated in 2016, the same year Horus Music India opened in Mumbai to expand local support, with two business development managers.

In 2021, Horus partnered with UnitedMasters, Symphonic Distribution and beatBread to give clients access to capital through beatBread’s chordCashAI, while artists retain ownership of their music. Horus has worked with charities such as Save the Children, The Pixel Project and Bloodwise.

Today, Horus employs about 17 people and remains headquartered in Leicester, serving clients worldwide. It offers opportunities ranging from performances and local auditions for shows like The Voice UK to a broad suite of services including label services, online delivery, marketing, playlisting, radio promotion and publishing.
