Honda Stream
The Honda Stream is a compact MPV made by Honda from 2000 to 2014. It’s a sporty, family-friendly seven‑seater built on Civic underpinnings, with a wagon-style body.
First generation (2000–2003)
- Based on the Civic, with a longer body to fit a third row.
- Engines: 1.7 L D17 VTEC (about 130 PS) and 2.0 L K20A (about 154 PS), with front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive options.
- Transmissions: mostly automatic, with a manual option in some markets.
- Facelift in 2003. A sportier Absolute version arrived the same year, using a 2.0 L K20B direct-injection engine with a CVT.
- Some markets offered six or seven seats; Japan also offered special trims and a lean-burn direct-injection variant in Absolute.
Second generation (2006–2014)
- New styling and a new platform, still targeting customers who want space plus everyday usability.
- Engines: 1.8 L R18A and 2.0 L R20A, with CVT or 5-speed automatic, and optional front- or all-wheel drive.
- A higher-performance RSZ variant appeared, with firmer suspension.
- From 2012, many markets sold only the RSZ version.
- Production mainly in Sayama, Japan, with some early Indonesian assembly (2003–2006) for local markets.
Close to the end of its run, Honda stopped Stream production in 2014 for Japan and Singapore (Malaysia kept it briefly until 2015). In Japan, Singapore, and some other markets, it was replaced by the Honda Jade. The Stream is often described as a sporty seven-seater with the practicality of an estate car.
