Hill Top is a small rural community in Charles County, Maryland, United States. It lies about 7 miles west of Port Tobacco, along Hilltop Road off Maryland Route 6.

The community is near Welcome and Ironsides—about 2.4 km west-northwest of Welcome and 3.2 km east-southeast of Ironsides.

Hill Top has existed since at least 1850, when it appeared in the U.S. Census as a census district. It is the site of a Roman Catholic parish founded in 1851, with its first church, St. Ignatius, built in 1859.

In 1861, at the start of the Civil War, Union artillery was stationed at Hill Top due to the county’s Southern sympathies.

Hill Top lies in the Nanjemoy Creek watershed.
