Hilgard Hall
Hilgard Hall is a historic building on the University of California, Berkeley campus, located on Oxford Street in Berkeley, California. Built in 1917 and designed by architect John Galen Howard, the building features a mix of Neo-classical design and Northern Italian Renaissance styling. It is named after Eugene W. Hilgard, a noted pedologist who was the first dean of UC Berkeley’s College of Agriculture from 1874 to 1904 and the founder of the University Agricultural Experimental Station. Hilgard Hall is part of Berkeley’s Agricultural Complex, which also includes Wellman Hall and Giannini Hall. The building and its site were added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 25, 1982.
