Éric Charden
Éric Charden, born Jacques-André Puissant on 15 October 1942 in Haiphong, French Indochina, was a French singer and songwriter. He became famous as part of the duo Stone et Charden, formed with Annie Gautrat (Stone). His father was a French port engineer and his mother was Tibetan. He moved to Marseille with his mother in 1950, and his father returned to France in 1954. He earned a baccalaureate from HEC Paris in 1960. Charden and Gautrat were awarded the Legion of Honour on 1 January 2012. He died of cancer on 29 April 2012 in Paris, aged 69. He had a long music career from 1963 to 2012 and is best remembered for Stone et Charden.
