Hey Daddy (Daddy's Home) is a 2009 R&B song by Usher featuring Plies, from his sixth album Raymond v. Raymond. The track was written by Rico Love, Usher, Plies, and The Runners’ Andrew Harr and Jermaine Jackson, with production by The Runners and Rico Love. The original album version runs 3:44, while the single (radio) edit with Plies is 4:16. It was the album’s first US single after the buzz single “Papers.”

The song signals Usher’s return to a sexier, Confessions-era vibe and explores themes of temptation and Usher’s personal life. A remix featuring Plies was released to radio on December 8, 2009 (digital release December 15), and a second remix featuring Jadakiss came out February 5, 2010 with a beat that samples Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz’s “Deja Vu (Uptown Baby).” The track initially leaked online in October 2009.

Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home) peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, making it Usher’s third straight top-five R&B hit. The music video, directed by Chris Robinson, shows Usher trying to get home to his wife amid distractions and temptations; it features French model Noémie Lenoir and does not include Plies. The clip was filmed in West Hollywood at The London and premiered on MTV in January 2010.

Critics noted the song as a sexy, attention-grabbing return to Usher’s signature style. It also helped cement Usher’s streak of top-three R&B hits, and the video has accumulated hundreds of millions of views online. Usher performed the song on shows like Lopez Tonight, Late Show with David Letterman, and Good Morning America as part of promoting Raymond v. Raymond.
