Heinrich Andres
Heinrich Andres (5 May 1883 – 11 August 1970) was a German teacher and botanist who studied plants of the Rhineland. He worked as a schoolteacher in Hetzhof until 1910, then taught in Bonn. He described the plant groups Monotropastrum and Monotropanthum and many species in the heath family Ericaceae. In 1967, the genus Andresia was named in his honor by Hermann Otto Sleumer. He published the exsiccata series Dr. phil. Wirtgen: Herbarium plantae criticae, selectae, hybridae florae Rhenanae, editio nova (1928–1933).
