Heimo Pfeifenberger
Heimo Pfeifenberger (born 29 December 1966) is an Austrian football manager and former player. He is currently the manager of SV Grödig.
As a player, Pfeifenberger was a striker and winger. He played for USV Zederhaus (youth), Austria Salzburg, Rapid Wien, SV Wüstenrot Salzburg, Werder Bremen, Seekirchen and SV Grödig. He had his best years at Austria Salzburg, winning the Austrian league title in 1993–94 and 1994–95 and the Austrian Supercup. He was the league’s top scorer in 1993–94 with 14 goals. He played in the first leg of the 1994 UEFA Cup Final against Inter Milan. He also scored many goals for Austria Salzburg and Rapid Wien, making him one of Austria’s top scorers.
Internationally, Pfeifenberger earned 40 caps for Austria and scored 9 goals. He debuted in 1989 in a World Cup qualifier against Iceland and played in the 1990 and 1998 World Cups. His last international match was a friendly in August 1998 against France.
As a coach, Pfeifenberger has led Red Bull Salzburg’s youth team, SV Grödig, and served as assistant for Austria U-21. He also coached SPG Axams-Götzens, SV Grödig again, SC Wiener Neustadt (2012–2014), Wolfsberger AC (2015–2018), and FK Sūduva in Lithuania (2020). He returned to SV Grödig in July 2020.
