He-Man & She-Ra: A Christmas Special
He-Man & She-Ra: A Christmas Special is a 1985 American animated TV special based on He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and its spin-off She-Ra. Orko accidentally travels to Earth during Christmas and brings two children, Miguel and Alisha, back to Eternia. The story follows their adventures as the heroes try to return Orko home and share a festive spirit across worlds.
Plot in simple terms:
- Adam (He-Man) and Adora (She-Ra) are getting ready for Adam and Adora’s birthday when Orko sneaks into a space shuttle being built to spy on Skeletor.
- Skeletor chases the shuttle, but He-Man and She-Ra stop him. Orko’s spell sends the shuttle, with Orko, off Eternia and to Earth.
- Orko meets Miguel and Alisha, who are Christmas-shopping and get lost. He learns about Christmas and brings the kids aboard the crashed shuttle.
- To bring Orko back, Man-At-Arms needs a special crystal called a Carium Water Crystal from Etheria. Adora goes as She-Ra to fetch it with Swift Wind, joining forces with Mermista. The crystal is guarded by the Beast Monster, and they eventually obtain it, but are blocked by the Monstroids.
- Orko and the Earth children return to Eternia with the crystal. It will take time to recharge, so the kids may miss Christmas. Queen Marlena decides to combine Adam and Adora’s birthday party with Christmas.
- Horde Prime orders Skeletor and Hordak to capture the Earth kids, promising a reward. A battle ensues as Monchines and other allies try to help.
- Skeletor is captured and later saved by surprising teamwork. The Monstroids and villains are defeated, and Skeletor ends up helping save the kids.
- With the danger over, He-Man and She-Ra rescue the children and celebrate. Adam, dressed as Santa, gives the kids flying belts, and the Earth kids return home with their Christmas tree.
- The story ends with a moral from Adam: Christmas is about caring, sharing and goodwill, and its spirit is in everyone. Orko adds his own playful note about loving presents.
