HEI Hotels & Resorts is a hotel owner and operator based in Norwalk, Connecticut. It was founded by brothers Gary and Steve Mendell. The company owns and runs more than 100 hotels and resorts across the United States, covering everything from budget to luxury properties. These hotels operate under well-known brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Embassy Suites, Westin, Le Méridien, and Sheraton.

HEI focuses on environmental stewardship, investing in new technologies to reduce energy use at its properties. In 2011, President Barack Obama selected HEI to participate in the Better Buildings Challenge, and the company has repeatedly won the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star Partner of the Year award.
