Gordon Chaplin
Gordon Chaplin (July 31, 1907 – June 27, 1964) was a Canadian businessman and politician with the Progressive Conservative party. Born in St. Catharines, Ontario, he was a manufacturer and led Canadian General Tower Limited, and he also served as a director of the Waterloo Savings and Trust Company. He represented Waterloo South in Ontario's legislature from 1945 to 1948. He was elected to the Canadian House of Commons for Waterloo South in 1962 and re-elected in 1963. Chaplin died in office in June 1964 during the 26th Parliament. He married Helen Elizabeth Goring in 1920. His uncle Alexander Dew Chaplin also served in Parliament, and Gordon Chaplin Park in Cambridge is named in his honor.
