Gilbert Lewis (actor)
Gilbert Lewis (April 6, 1936 – May 7, 2015) was an American actor from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is best known for playing The King of Cartoons in the first season of the 1986 children’s show Pee-wee’s Playhouse. Lewis appeared in thirteen episodes before the role was taken over by William Marshall. He also guest-starred on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, General Hospital, and Alien Nation. Active from around 1970 to 1995, Lewis died in Philadelphia at the age of 79.
