The 2023–24 Charlotte Hornets season was the team’s 34th in the NBA. It was the first season with new majority owners Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall, replacing Michael Jordan. Steve Clifford coached the team, with Fred Whitfield as president and Mitch Kupchak as general manager. Home games were played at the Spectrum Center.

The Hornets finished 21–61, placing 4th in the Southeast Division and 13th in the Eastern Conference, so they did not make the playoffs. They were officially out of playoff contention on March 23 after losing 132–91 to the Atlanta Hawks, which extended their playoff drought to eight seasons. They averaged 16,448 fans per game at 41 home games.

This season also introduced the NBA’s In-Season Tournament. The Hornets were in Group B of the Eastern Conference, facing the Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, Miami Heat, and Washington Wizards.

In the 2023 draft, Charlotte had the rights to Mouhamed Gueye, selected 39th overall.
