Gerry Cawley, from St Mawgan in Cornwall, is known as a Cornish wrestling champion. He has retired from competitive wrestling but now sometimes serves as a referee in the ring. In 2007, he won the Cornish Heavyweight Wrestling Championship in Helston during the Harvest Fair, defeating Gareth Beale of Truro after two 10-minute bouts and 3 minutes of extra time, in front of more than 200 spectators.
