George Lindsay Johnson
George Lindsay Johnson (10 July 1853 – 1 August 1943) was a British ophthalmologist. He was born in Manchester and studied at Owens College (Victoria University of Manchester), Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and St Bartholomew's Hospital. He earned his M.D. in 1890 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1884. He worked at the Royal Westminster Ophthalmic Hospital and the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. Johnson published work on the eyes of mammals, reptiles and amphibians, and he also enjoyed photography. He moved to South Africa in 1911, and later in life he took an interest in psychical research and spiritualism.
