General Belgrano Department is a central region of Chaco Province in Argentina. Its capital is Corzuela. The department covers about 1,218 square kilometers and has around 10,500 residents, giving a density of roughly 8.6 people per square kilometer. It was created on April 30, 1917. People from the area are called Belgranenses. The department is named after General Manuel Belgrano (1770–1820), a key Argentine economist, lawyer, politician and military leader. It is located about 1,250 kilometers from Buenos Aires. The time zone is UTC-3. Postal code H3718 and area code 03731.
