Gelbison were a Sydney-based Australian pop/indie rock band formed in 2000 by Pete Farley, Dave Galafassi, Edo Kahn and his brother Nadav Kahn. They released two studio albums, 1704 (2003) and See the World (2004), before disbanding in 2007.

Their debut single, Metal Detector, came out in 2002 ahead of 1704, which was produced by Ian Ball of Gomez. The album reached the ARIA Hitseekers Albums Chart, with follow-up singles Homelands (2003) and Good God (2003). The video for Good God was directed by Toni Collette, who had married Galafassi earlier that year.

Early in 2003, Edo and Nadav Kahn helped form Nations by the River as a side project; they released Holes in the Valley in 2004. Gelbison’s second album, See the World, released in November 2004, was produced again by Ian Ball with Ben Frost and featured contributions from Ball, Ohad Rein, Luke Steele and Ben Lee. The album reached No. 10 on the ARIA Hitseekers chart, and tracks like All the Rage and Holy received substantial Triple J rotation. The band spent a period writing in a shack at Jervis Bay and experimented with different drummers.

In 2006 Farley and Galafassi joined Toni Collette & the Finish. Gelbison left EMI that year and began work on new material with producer Tony Buchen, but eventually the band split. Edo and Nadav then released music as the Kahn Brothers, debuting Love Melts Fear in 2007 on Shakti/Interia Records.
