Fuun Lion-Maru
Fuun Lion-Maru (Lion-Man outside Japan) is a 1973 Japanese tokusatsu TV series from P Productions, aired on Fuji TV. The 25-episode show runs about 25 minutes per episode, airing from April 14 to September 29, 1973. Set in Feudal Japan, it follows Dan Shishimaru, a 22-year-old samurai who can transform into a powerful anthropomorphic lion and fights with a special katana to defend honor and justice. After his brother is killed by Nezuma, a human monster allied with Mantle, Dan seeks revenge and peace. This is the second Lion-Maru series and introduces Black Jaguar and Tiger Joe (Jonosuke). Only two actors return from the first series—Tetsuya Ushio as Shishimaru and Yoshitaka Fukushima as Jonosuke—while others are replaced by Ryoko Miyano and Tsunehiro Arai. The series is nicknamed "the Rolling Tempest Ninja Warrior."
