Saint Fulcran was a French saint and the bishop of Lodève. He came from a noble family and dedicated himself to the Church from a young age. After Bishop Theoderich died in 949, Fulcran was chosen to succeed him and was consecrated bishop on February 4.

He worked hard to keep the moral life in his diocese, especially among priests and monks, and he rebuilt many churches and monasteries. He rebuilt Lodève Cathedral, which had been dedicated to Saint Genesius of Arles but was later rededicated to Saint Fulcran, and the church of Saint-Sauveur with a Benedictine monastery.

Fulcran cared for the poor and sick, founding hospitals and supporting others. He led the diocese for more than fifty years and died in 1006. He was buried in Lodève Cathedral and honored as a saint. His relics survived only in small parts after the cathedral was burned by the Huguenots in 1572.

He is the second patron of the Diocese of Lodève, with his feast on February 13. Lodève also celebrates a week called the Fête de St. Fulcran in May, with a carnival and other events.
