Fujinon
Fujinon is a line of optical lenses made by Fujifilm (formerly Fuji Photo Film). The brand is trusted by professional photographers, broadcasters, and movie makers.
History in brief
Fujifilm began making optical glass in 1940 at its Odawara factory. They used platinum crucibles to create very pure glass. They also pioneered Electron Beam Coating (EBC), a multi-layer lens coating that boosts brightness and clarity. The first EBC lens was the 55mm F3.5 Macro in 1972, featuring coatings with up to 14 layers. EBC later evolved into Super-EBC and HT-EBC (High Transmittance-EBC).
What Fujinon lenses cover

- SWD and SW: wide-angle lines (SWD around 105°; SW around 100°) for broad scenes.
- A, C, L, T lines: standard, compact, telephoto, and soft-focus designs (many with EBC or multi-coating).
