French Office in Taipei
The French Office in Taipei acts as France’s de facto embassy in Taiwan because the two governments do not have formal diplomatic relations. It protects France’s interests and helps French people in Taiwan.
Location and opening
- Address: 39th floor, Taipei 101, Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan
- Reopened and moved to the 39th floor on February 23, 2021
History
- 1981: Opened as the French Trade Office
- 1989: Became the French Institute in Taipei
- 2011: Renamed the French Office in Taipei
- Chinese name remains 法國在台協會
