Fred Crespo (born 1957/1958) is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 44th district since 2007. The district is in Cook County and includes all of Streamwood, much of Hoffman Estates and Hanover Park, and parts of Schaumburg, Elgin, and Bartlett. He studied at Loyola University Chicago (BS) and the Illinois Institute of Technology. Crespo and his wife, Dorothy, have two children.

During his time in office, Crespo has supported projects to improve the region, such as helping build the Alexian Brothers Women’s and Children’s Hospital in the Northwest Suburbs and securing funding for a full interchange at Interstate 90 and Barrington Road (completed in 2016). He helped open the Work and Education Center in Hanover Park in 2014 in partnership with the village and local colleges. In 2018, Governor-elect J.B. Pritzker appointed him to the Educational Success transition committee to shape state education policy.

Crespo has received several awards for his work, including the Lincoln Award for economic development from the Illinois Office of Tourism, and Legislator of the Year honors from the Illinois Psychological Association and from ANAD (National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders). He was also recognized by NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) as a hero, and WINGS acknowledged his efforts to end domestic violence and support civil protection laws.
