Christina Modestou
Christina Modestou (born 5 April 1989) is a Welsh-Greek theatre actress and singer from Port Talbot, South Wales. She trained at Mark Jermin Stage School and later at ArtsEducational School (ArtsEd) in Chiswick, West London.
Her first professional job was in the ensemble of We Will Rock You in 2010, where she also covered the role of Killer Queen. In 2014 she appeared as Nina in the UK premiere of In the Heights at Southwark Playhouse, a production that later moved to the Charing Cross Theatre. She then joined Urinetown at the Apollo Theatre and later took part in the UK tour of Shrek the Musical. She was also part of the 20th anniversary RENT production at The Other Palace and on a UK tour.
In 2017 she joined the original cast of Six at the Arts Theatre in London, portraying Anne Boleyn. She recorded the role for the 2018 Six studio album. After leaving the show, others took over the role in the West End and Broadway productions.
In 2018 Modestou played Ronnette in Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s The Little Shop of Horrors. She returned to the Open Air Theatre in 2021 to star as Claire in Carousel. She later joined the touring production of Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World, playing multiple historical figures including Gertrude Ederle, Jane Austen, Mary Anning and Anne Frank.
