Francisco Cacharro
Francisco Cacharro Pardo (16 November 1936 – 8 March 2015) was a Spanish politician from Galicia. Born in Jaén, he moved to Lugo as a child. He worked as chief inspector of primary education in Lugo province (1973–1981) before entering politics with the People's Party of Galicia. He served as a senator for Lugo starting in 1977, was an alderman of Lugo from 1979 to 2007 (including a term as Councillor for Education from 1982 to 1983), and was President of the Provincial Deputation of Lugo from 1983 to 2007. Cacharro died on 8 March 2015 in Lugo after a long illness, aged 78.
