Ferro (footballer)
Francisco Reis Ferreira, commonly known as Ferro, is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a centre-back for Estoril in the Primeira Liga. He was born on 26 March 1997 in Oliveira de Azeméis, Portugal, and is 1.91 m tall.
Ferro began his football career in Benfica’s youth system after stints with Oliveirense, Casa do Benfica de Estarreja and other clubs. He played for Benfica B from 2016 to 2019 before being promoted to Benfica’s first team in 2019. He helped Benfica win the Primeira Liga in the 2018–19 season and made his European debut that year.
He spent several seasons on loan: at Valencia in 2021, Hajduk Split in 2022, and Vitesse in 2022–23, before returning to Hajduk Split on a permanent deal in 2023. In 2024 he joined Estrela da Amadora, and in 2025 he moved to Estoril.
Internationally, Ferro represented Portugal at every youth level ( totaling 51 caps) and was called up to the senior national team in 2019 for Euro 2020 qualifiers.
