Ends and Means

Ends and Means is a 1937 collection of essays by Aldous Huxley. Published by Chatto & Windus, it looks at what ideals are and how people try to achieve them, discussing topics such as war, religion, nationalism, and ethics. The book influenced Thomas Merton, who mentions it in his autobiography The Seven Storey Mountain. An American edition appeared in 1937 from Harper & Brothers.
