El Prat Museum
El Prat Museum is in El Prat de Llobregat, Catalonia, Spain. It was created in 1962 by the town council to preserve the area’s history and natural heritage. The museum is housed in Balcells Tower, a 19th‑century building that was used for farming and as a summer residence. It is part of the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network. The museum will move to a new building that is currently under construction. Its collection has three parts: material about El Prat’s agricultural and industrial past; an ornithological collection showing the birds of the Llobregat Delta; and a contemporary art collection with about 300 works. The permanent exhibition, redesigned in 1996, focuses on the formation and transformation of the Llobregat Delta.
