Edgar Marcelino
Edgar Carvalho Figueira Marcelino (born 10 September 1984) is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a winger. He was born in Coimbra and began his youth career with Académica and Sporting CP, but he never played for Sporting’s first team.
He made his professional debut with F.C. Penafiel in the Primeira Liga, helping the club to stay in the top division. He spent time on loan at RBC Roosendaal in the Netherlands before continuing his career with Vitória de Guimarães. His journeyman path then took him to Omonia Nicosia (Cyprus), Racing de Ferrol (Spain), APOP Kinyras (Cyprus), Estoril, KAC, AEP Paphos, Al-Seeb (Oman), FC Goa (India), Pune (India), Karmiotissa, Acharnaikos, Zakynthos, Richmond, Amora, Fabril Barreiro, Atlético Malveira, União Serpense and Porto Salvo.
Internationally, Marcelino played for Portugal’s U21 team, earning 3 caps and scoring 2 goals between 2004 and 2005.
In 2022 he became general director of União Serpense.
