Edward Atherton Coray (August 24, 1901 – January 2, 1993) was an American college coach who led Wheaton College’s football, basketball, and baseball programs. Born in Rhode Island, he served as Wheaton’s head football coach from 1926 to 1928, finishing 5–14–3. He was the head basketball coach in two periods, 1926–1936 and 1943–1951, with a combined record of 227–143 over 17 seasons. He also coached baseball in two periods, 1927–1936 and 1941–1944, compiling a 56–111–2 mark. He was Wheaton’s athletic director until 1951, when he was promoted to executive secretary of the college; the athletic director role was filled by Harvey Chrouser. Coray died on January 2, 1993, in Wheaton, Illinois, at age 91.
