Ebrington Square is a public space and tourist spot in Derry, Northern Ireland. It sits on the old Ebrington Barracks parade ground in the Waterside area and is connected to the city centre by the Peace Bridge over the River Foyle. The square opened on 14 February 2012 after regeneration and hosted many events when Derry was UK City of Culture in 2013. To its west along the river is Mute Meadow, a sculpture made of 40 pairs of columns by artists Vong Phaophanit and Claire Oboussier. At night the columns light up with colors inspired by the Guildhall windows. Unveiled in 2011, Mute Meadow needed repairs and its lights have been off since 2014.
