Duane Sommers
Duane Sommers (November 15, 1932 – August 26, 2015) was an American Republican politician from Spokane, Washington. He served in the Washington House of Representatives for the 6th district in two nonconsecutive terms: from January 12, 1987 to January 11, 1993, succeeding James E. West and later being succeeded by Jean Silver; and again from January 9, 1995 to January 8, 2001, succeeding Todd Mielke and followed by John Ahern. He was born in Spokane on November 15, 1932, and died in Spokane on August 26, 2015, at age 82.
