Donjon (role-playing game)
Donjon (French for “keep”) is an indie fantasy tabletop role-playing game created by Clinton R. Nixon and published by Anvilwerks in 2002. It is a narrative dungeon crawl game that both parodies and honors Dungeons & Dragons. In conflict resolutions, dice rolls let players add new facts to the scene, giving them the power to steer the story in unexpected directions for the game master. Donjon, InSpectres, and Children of the Sun were finalists for the first Indie Game of the Year award in 2002, but Dust Devils by Matt Snyder won.
