Denison Township is in Lawrence County, Illinois, United States. It was settled on November 4, 1856 and is named after William Denison, a county official. The township covers 58.37 square miles, of which 57.9 is land and 0.47 is water. The elevation is about 492 feet. The population was 1,558 at the 2010 census, with 738 housing units. An estimate for 2016 puts the population at about 1,461.
