Deming Elementary School
Deming Elementary School is a public elementary school in Cheyenne, Wyoming. It is part of Laramie County School District No. 1. The brick building at 715 West Fifth Avenue was designed by architect Frederick Hutchinson Porter and built in 1945. The design blends Art Deco with some International Style elements. The school sits on about 1 acre. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 22, 2005, because of its role in Cheyenne’s educational growth and as a notable work by Porter, reflecting early 20th-century ideas about school design. The building was built to show community pride and permanence.
