Dead Reset is a 2025 full-motion-video adventure game from Dark Rift Horror and Wales Interactive. It released on September 11, 2025 for Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS. It is a single-player experience.

What you do
- You control Cole Mason, a surgeon with amnesia who wakes up in a research facility and must perform an operation on a patient named Amanda.
- The operation triggers a time loop. In each loop you choose between two options. Some choices cause Cole to die and restart; others reveal clues or push the story forward.
- The game is shown through full-motion video, and scenes you’ve already seen are skipped. There are multiple endings, and a streamer mode lets viewers influence what happens in real time.

Story in brief
- Cole meets the facility staff: Magson (director), Slade (security), Fearne (head researcher), Weir (psychologist), and Cooper (engineer).
- The alien parasite inside Amanda escapes during the operation, killing people and starting a loop where Cole must find a way to survive.
- The facility is studying a dangerous time displacement machine. Touching the machine lets Cole glimpse possible futures and help people, but the creature grows and can predict his moves.
- Cole learns he arrived at the facility as a test subject six months earlier, and that Fearne is Amanda’s sister. The team must repair life support and use the override to access the machine while escaping the creature.
- The escape is underwater, and the clock is ticking as the machine drains power and could destroy the facility.

Endings
- If Fearne dies: Cole and Slade fight the creature. Slade dies, and Cole can either destroy the time machine or reset it to try to return to the start.
- If Fearne survives: Slade dies in the struggle, and Cole must choose between killing the creature or escaping with Fearne.

Development and reception
- Dark Rift Horror, founded in York, England in 2015, co-developed the game with Wales Interactive.
- Dead Reset received mixed reviews. Critics praised the story, visuals, and acting, but some called the gameplay limited, noted bugs on Switch, and described it as feeling like a horror-thriller experience rather than a traditional game.
