David Gomberg is a Democratic member of the Oregon House of Representatives, representing District 10 on the central coast since 2013. He became speaker pro tempore for the 2025 legislative session. Before politics, he co-owned a kite design, manufacturing, and sales business.

Born in London in 1953 to a U.S. Air Force officer and his British wife, Gomberg grew up in California. He earned a BA in political science with honors from Oregon State University in 1976, an interdisciplinary MA in 1977, and an MBA from Willamette University in 1981. Early in his career he worked for U.S. Representative Les AuCoin and held roles in the Oregon Legislature, including chief of staff to Barbara Roberts and administrator of the House Education Committee.

In 1988, Gomberg moved to the Oregon Coast and became executive director of the Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce. He later started Gomberg Kite Productions International (GKPI) with his wife, producing large show kites and a line of products under the G-Kites brand, and running retail stores. He has written four books on kite flying and led kite organizations, earning lifetime achievement awards and a place in the World Kiting Hall of Fame in 2005. GKPI was named Lincoln City’s Business of the Year in 2012; the company downsized and closed GKPI in 2018–2019 as he began focusing on politics.

Elected to the Oregon House in 2012, Gomberg represents District 10, which has shifted with redistricting to cover parts of Lincoln, Benton, Lane, Tillamook, Yamhill, and Polk counties. His legislative priorities include supporting small business, improving government accountability, emergency response, strengthening public education, fair tax collection, environmental sustainability, and rights for people with disabilities and seniors. He holds several leadership and committee roles, including vice-chair of the Joint Ways & Means Committee and co-chair of the Ways & Means Transportation & Economic Development subcommittee, and he serves on other committees and boards related to government, innovation, and safety. He is also known for his work with international kite communities and was named an honorary citizen of Weifang, China, and Berck, France. Gomberg married Susan Elizabeth Oswald in 1986.
